It was really fun and brought back fond memories!!
I've always been a fan and I can remember how I used to look forward to watching "The Muppet Show" every week. After the series ended, I always looked for the reruns to be aired on TV too. Now I look back and wish that I had recorded them...

I used to go to my school library and borrow every single children's book I could get my hands on that had the Muppet characters in them too.
Who was my favorite character...? Hmm... I really loved all of them... I can't say I had a particular favorite. They were all so unique!!
Jim Henson and Frank Oz were amazing puppeteers and they created some wonderful characters. "Seasame Street" will forever be in my memories for this was the show that helped me learn English outside of school. Also, the movie "The Dark Crystal" (1982) is one of my all time favorite movies.

The two and their crew have brought laughter, hope and encouragement for many children around the world. They are definitely my heroes!!
Now in the 21st century where computer animation is the norm, such kinds of unique characters are rare to find. I don't have children of my own nor do I see and play with children on a regular basis so I don't know what kinds of stuffed toys are popular nowadays. What do children snuggle up with when they go to bed? Kinda hard to do that with computer graphic robots and dragons... The scope of imagination has really changed since I was a child... Or am I just out of the loop since I don't have any children around me...? Maybe I should drop by a Toys R Us sometime soon and see what's out there!!
The trip down memory lane was definitely refreshing though. I wonder what other movie from the 80's I should check out next!!
Kids still love sesame street....and lots of non computer animated Kidd shows.... I must be odd but I never liked the muppets...do u know fraggle rock?
ReplyDeleteHey there!! Yeah, in North America I think the good ol' cartoons are still popular. But here in Japan... I'm starting to worry about my "nephew" already and he's only a week old!! Haha!! As for "Fraggle Rock", yes I watched it too!! It was fun!!
